Shrek franchise star Eddie Murphy has confirmed that work on the fifth instalment of the animated film has already started. He also said that his character Donkey deserved his own spin-off.

According to the actor, he started voicing his character “a few months ago.” “We started working on ‘Shrek 5’. I’ve already done some of my work, I’ve recorded the first act and we intend to work on it this year and finish it.
