China is building a giant railgun to launch shuttles into orbit

The project has many difficulties, although all of them, in theory, are surmountable. However, experiments with electromagnetic catapults in the U.S. have not been successful – devices of different capacities have not caught on, so the Americans are sceptical about the efforts of Chinese colleagues. But they do not pay attention and are systematically working on the device – all calculations indicate that this idea is feasible and brings undoubted benefits.
